LAND ROVER 101 WINCH MOUNT
The following mount has been designed by 101 owner and "Plasma" winch rope supplier, Andy Tomlinson of Rufftrax.
It is available through him or if purchased as part of a winch package, from us. The mounting Is fabricated in two parts.
1. In front of the bumper.
This comprises the cradle that the winch sits in, welded to a plate secured through the eight holes that already exist on
the vehicle, 4 securing the nato hook & four (2 at each side) for the towing/lifting rings. This front section is also
secured by 4 further bolts through the top of the base plate into the lip at the rear of the bumper. This was the original
mounting for this winch. I used the spread plate for the nato hook and two spread plates, one for each towing/lifting ring
(approx 2" x 6" x 3/8").
The price for this part is £200.00 plus VAT.
2. Behind the bumper.
A flat spread plate that marries up with the 8 holes from the front is mounted behind the bumper, two tubular supports are
welded to this and angled to meet the chassis legs above the front spring hangers - these are then welded into place. This
part was a later addition to the project following various schools of thought regarding the strength of the bumper, the weight
of the vehicle and the amount of serious off-roading you intend to do.
The price for this part, ready for welding to the chassis is £100.00 plus VAT.
