THE QUALIFYING VEHICLE
- Must have 4-wheel-drive (permanent or selectable), be fully road legal and be in a roadworthy condition.
- The vehicle must have sufficient capacity to carry the following list of equipment and this may have a bearing on the type of vehicle that is considered most suitable for the series. Although it is permissible for the competing vehicle to be trailered to the muster point of the event, all of the above equipment may need to be carried by the competing vehicle throughout the duration of the event. In addition to having sufficient space on board, all of the equipment must be adequately secured to the vehicle, to ensure personal and third-party safety.

- Tree strops.
- Ground anchor
- Bridging ladders

- High lifting jack
- Shovel
- GPS with USB port lead.
- Compass

- Mobile phone
- Digital camera (if not on mobile phone)
- Small personal first aid kit
- Spare parts
- Full camping equipment for at least 1 night
- Vehicle documents
- Passport
